Does gmail not allow nude pics to be stored?

Odd question, I have received several racy pics from my wife in my gmail account, went to store them in a personal folder I created. They were there for a day or two then they disappeared. There is no possibility of anyone getting into my email account. Does google filter and censor what it lets you store in your mail account/on their servers? Seems odd.
